There are some cases that require corrections of both the pelvis and the femur. Whenever this is the case, both the PAO and ITO techniques are done sequentially during one surgery. Other than an extended surgery time, everything remains largely the same. It can also be combined with a surgical arthroscopy. This has not yet been done on an out-patient basis.
